Bamboo Feng Shui
Where do you locate your bamboo plant to harmonise both the needs of the plant and the effects of Bamboo Feng Shui.
Whether it is in their offices or their homes, very often many people place their Bamboo Feng Shui plants at the wrong places. Unknown to them, not only could they have downgraded their own Feng Shui "Qi" status instantly because of this, they could have also killed their lovely Bamboo Feng Shui plants which are supposed to be there to help enhance their Feng Shui in the first place.
Although most people have a place in mind as to where they want to plant their Feng Shui Bamboo, one should keep in mind that most large Feng Shui bamboos grow quicker and do their best in full sun. They must be given ample water, fertilizer, and protection from competitive weeds.
They will benefit from a windscreen and light shade when first planted as well. This is especially true of smaller plants. Fargesias, Thamnocalamus and Sasas do well with light to moderate shade. In fact the Fargesias and most Thamnocalamus are happier with some shade during the hottest part of the day.
Fargesia and Thamnocalamus are the hardiest of the clump type Feng Shui Bamboos. They can be planted without fear of spreading. Most other hardy bamboos can spread by their underground rhizomes and this must be taken into account when planting them. We recommend a barrier material of 60 mil by 30 inch deep, HDPE (high density polyethylene) to control their spread.
